Calligraphy and typography belonging to the past remain a reference to many type designers. The reason why nowadays we see the emergence of typographical work - having its origins and inspiration in the past and being revivals of typography or reinterpretations of forms - is due to the legacy of excellent examples of work.
Pedro Diaz Morante was one of the most respected 17th century Spanish calligraphers, and it’s around his first class calligraphy that my project develops, through the creation of a typeface revival. By adopting the name of its author, I came up with “Morante” typeface.
