   A traditional rub “Nose kiss” a way of greeting in the gulf arab countries, especially United Arab Emirates.

   Omran Al Owais’s piece – Bel-Khoushoum – brings the viewer back to the roots and to the traditions of the UAE, by showing a traditional ‘nose kiss’ – a greeting still practiced today by men of the UAE to salute close acquaintances. The image is pixilated, suggesting how this traditional salutation may be misinterpreted by other cultures.
